There have been a lot of questions surrounding the GAC commercials on the Great American Family Channel. It is a brand new network that recently had a very successful Christmas movie season lineup. The channel has gained many viewers in search of “family friendly” viewing with strong morals. However, these viewers have been unhappy with the commercial breaks on the network.
Viewers have noticed that the channel has been showing “off color” commercials that don’t align with the values of the network. The programming including movies such as A Christmas…Present and Christmas on Candy Cane Lane have aligned well with the values they advertise.
The GAC Commercials Are Explained…
So why would they show commercials that would make their audience base unhappy? Well, it’s actually not up to the Great American Family Channel. A spokesperson for the network explained why this is. “Your provider sells a portion of Great American Family’s hourly ad time,” they began. This is a standard practice with most cable networks. “We don’t control the process,” they explained.
“We do not benefit from these advertisements which run on our channel,” they reassured their viewers.
Is there anything you can do about it? Well yes, because every voice counts. “We kindly suggest you reach out to your provider with any feedback or concerns,” they suggested. So whether you are watching the station on DirecTV, Dish, Verizon, or the Frndly TV App

I was thrilled when my provider, Mediacom, started carrying GAF! However, for the past 2 weeks I have been unable to watch because the actors and/or commercials only say about 10 seconds of dialogue when I see “loading video”. Talk about annoying! No way can I watch tv that way! What’s up?
