The Gabby Petito Story on Lifetime Plot
It will follow the true story of Gabby and her fiance Brian Laundrie’s relationship and travels across the country as they set out to live the van life. It will explore what could have happened along the way and in those final moments of both of their lives.
The disappearance of the 22-year old travel blogger, Gabby Petito was front and center in the headlines, setting off a nationwide search. Her parents reported her missing in September 2021 after her boyfriend Brian returned back home to Florida without his girlfriend. Social media was abuzz as sleuths tried to discover clues as what could have happened on her trip, up until the discovery of Gabby’s body in Wyoming.
The story will follow the warning signs, red flags during their doomed love story and the eventual suicide of Brian.

Skyler Samuels as Gabby Petito
She stars as Gabby Petito, the young woman who went missing while on a trip across the country with her fiance, Brian Laundrie. Skyler Samuels is an American actress best known for her roles on Wizards of Waverly Place starring Selena Gomez and Scream Queens. She graduated from Stanford University. The 28 year old actress hails from the city of lights, Los Angeles, California.

The Gabby Petito Story is not the first Lifetime movie Skyler has been in. In October 2021 she sent a message of thanks to viewers for tuning into her movie, Switched Before Birth also on Lifetime.

He portrays Brian Laundrie, Gabby’s fiance in The Gabby Petito Story. Hall is an American actor who has been acting since 2008. The 32 year old can be seen in supporting roles in Blue Bloods, The Blacklist, The Equalizer, The Code and more popular shows. Evan was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
He has an uncanny resemblance to the late Brian Laundrie. He has an Instagram profile that is private. The profile has over 1200 followers.

Monica Moore Smith as Gabby’s Friend, Rose
Monica Moore Smith portrays Rose, Gabby Petito’s friend in the Lifetime movie. She is an American actress who has been acting since 2011 in supporting roles through various TV movies and shorts.
The 25-year old actress is actually from Boca Raton, Florida. As her character Rose, she is from North Port, Florida near Sarasota.
In an Instagram post, she created awareness about physical intimidation and abuse in relationships. “f he’s physically intimidating you, it’s not a matter of IF he’ll hit you, but WHEN. Know the signs,” she said. Watch what she has to say below.

Thora Birch as Nichole Schmidt
She portrays Gabby’s mom in the Lifetime movie. Thora is an American actress and producer. She is most likely best known for her role as Gamma on AMC’s The Walking Dead.
The 40-year old Los Angeles born actress is married. Birch married talent manager Michael Adler on December 21, 2018. She captured a selfie in the car traveling out of Utah. This is where the movie filmed during the summer.

Did you know that a man spotted the real Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie on the street in Utah arguing? There is a document of a 911 caller describing what he saw on the street.
