Hoax: The Kidnapping of Sherri Papini is another original moving coming to the 2023 lineup for Lifetime. It will join other originals part of the “Ripped from the Headlines” movie event including Bad Behind Bars: Jodi Arias. The Sherri Papini movie will air on Lifetime Saturday January 28, 2023 at 8pm EST.
The Movie Sypnosis – What’s It About?
Jaime King stars as Sherri Papini in the film about the nation-wide, shocking story of a young mother of two, who disappears while jogging near her home, leading to national headlines as concerned citizens searched for her whereabouts. When she reappeared three weeks later on Thanksgiving Day, Sherri claimed she was abducted by two Hispanic women who chained and repeatedly abused her. While Sherri’s return was celebrated, the state never stopped searching for her kidnappers.
Four years later, Sherri’s world came crashing down as evidence revealed her kidnapping was all a hoax perpetrated by Sherri herself to spend time with her ex-boyfriend. Sherri was arrested and ultimately sentenced to 18 months in prison for lying to federal agents, creating hysteria in the community and wasting police time and funding with her nearly successful, elaborate scheme. Matt Hamilton (Girl in Room 13) stars as Sherri’s devoted husband, Keith.

Jaime King as Sherri Papini
Jaime is an American actress and model. She is signed with Next Model Management is 5’9″. Jaime starred as Lemon in Hart of Dixie from 2011 – 2015.
The Nebraska native is 43 years old. She married her husband Kyle in 2007 but the pair are currently separated. They share two sons together. Taylor Swift is godmother to her second born son.

Matt Hamilton as Keith
Matt is a Canadian actor. If you are a devout Lifetime movie viewer, you will recognize him from the last “Ripped from the Headlines” movie event original, Girl in Room 13.
On November 15th, Matt announced his role in the original movie. He said, “The cat is out of the bag. Who keeps putting cats in bags? PETA is cool with this? Whatever, at least it’s not dogs. ANYWAY, very excited to be apart of this project with the uber talented and lovely @jaime_king. She truly is a force.”
He is a team player! He visited his actor friends of their Hallmark Christmas movie, Three Wise Men and a Baby.
