In 2022, Lifetime premiered an original movie based on a true story. The movie is Let’s Get Physical. It starred Jenna Dewan as Sadie and produced by Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. It was written based off the real life story of Alexis Wright, the Zumba instructor busted for prostitution. So where is Alexis Wright today? Get the answer now.
Alexis Wright is the real life Zumba instructor, where the character Sadie Smith was created for the Lifetime movie. Alexis was raised in Maine, not far from Kennebunk where she ended up opening her own fitness studio. This turned the town of Kennebunk completely upside down as men from all over the town visited Alexis’s studio.
The 5’2″ petite fitness instructor also offered other services on the side. Tips kept pouring in to the police station when residents noticed multiple men visiting the studio at all hours of the day and night. The news was soon all over the quiet town.
Due to Alexis’s impeccable record keeping, she wasn’t the only one that went down when her illegal activity was busted. All the johns involved were not only published but also fined $300 each.
The then 30-year old Zumba instructor was the mother of a son, which was not depicted in the Lifetime flick. She also married her boyfriend Jason Trowbridge in 2012.
When Alexis was released from prison in 2013, her husband Jason Trowbridge picked her up. The whereabouts of Alexis Wright today aren’t too well known. However, it appears that she now goes by her married name of Alexis Sandra Trowbridge.
According to the online databases, it looks like she and her husband live only 10 minutes from Kennebunk, Maine. She is now in her late 30’s and her husband is in his 40’s.
