‘My Christmas Family Tree’ on Hallmark Channel Plot – What is the Movie About?

Vanessa (Teegarden) has never truly had a real family to celebrate with during the holidays. However, this year things are looking up! After Vanessa sends in some DNA to get her family tree DNA test, she discovers a family she never knew existed.

Richard (James Tupper), who is Vanessa’s biological father, invites her to spend Christmas weekend with him and his family. In addition, Richard also invites family friend Kristopher (Andrew Walker), who joins them ever Christmas to pick Vanessa up.

Kris is the perfect person to help Vanessa break the ice when she meets her new family and Richard’s wife for the first time. It feels a bit awkward at first, but the family takes part in their Christmas traditions. As the weekend progresses, Vanessa also gets the chance to meet her grandmother and other extended family. She even helps her little sister overcome stage fright before she goes on stage to perform at the Christmas pageant.

Vanessa is having an amazing Christmas when she receives a phone call from the DNA testing company with some surprising news. Will this jeopardize her holidays?

Aimee Teagarden as Vanessa

Aimee Teagarden is an actress, model and producer. She is most recognized as starring as Julie Taylor in the NBC drama Friday Night Lights from 2006 to 2011. A few short years later, Teegarden also starred in the CW’s Star-Crossed.

The 32-year old California born actress is an avid fitness enthusiast. Aimee competed in the 2016 Chicago Spartan Race and running a half marathon with Team Nike.

Andrew Walker as Kristopher

Andrew Walker is a Canadian actor. He has been a staple in the Hallmark Channel world for years now. However, Andrew was first seen in his early acting days in the popular teen series Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

The 42-year old actor is married to his wife, Cassandra Troy Walker. The couple have two children together. They also run a cold pressed juice company together. Andrew and Cassandra were recently participating in a tradeshow. Check out this photo from Cassandra’s Instagram.
