‘A Kiss Before Christmas’ on Hallmark Starring James Denton & Teri Hatcher – Cast, Plot, Photos & Preview

A Kiss Before Christmas: What is the Movie About?

Ethan Holt (James Denton) is a real estate development executive that was just passed over for a promotion due to his “nice guy” ways of doing business. Feeling frustrated, the husband and father of two makes a wish that his life were different. And get this: it actually comes true. 

The only catch with this new life of his? He’s no longer married to wife Joyce (Teri Hatcher), he doesn’t have two teenage kids, and he’s now the CEO of his company. Shocked by all these differences, he soon discovers Joyce is the key to getting his old life back. But, he has to convince her that their happy ever after still exists, and he only has until Christmas Day to do so.

Who is in the A Kiss Before Christmas Cast?

James Denton as Ethan Holt

James Denton is perhaps best known for his role of Mike Delfino on the ABC series Desperate Housewives. More recently, Hallmark fans have probably seen him on the network’s series The Good Witch as Dr. Sam Radford. 

According to TV Insider, it was Denton who persuaded his former Housewives co-star Teri Hatcher to join the Hallmark film. He said working with Teri again is “almost like a dream” and she agreed, noting: “the chemistry and the camaraderie and trust between us never went anywhere.” This is the first time the duo have worked together since the show ended in 2012. It’s also the first time any of the Desperate Housewives cast have reunited. 

Teri Hatcher as Joyce 

Teri Hatcher portrayed Susan Mayer, the other half of James Denton’s Mike in Desperate Housewives. Their characters actually married twice during the show’s run from 2004-2012. She earned an Emmy nomination in 2005 for her role. Fans may also know Teri from her portrayal of Lois Lane in the 90s series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. In 2019, she starred in the film Madness in the Method.

She posted about her reunion with James on Instagram, writing: “Resurrected in the best way! We’re back and ALIVE for this charming heartfelt #christmasmovie on @hallmarkchannel. Coming in November. #dontmissit #gladtobeback”

Teri also posted a video with James with the caption: “Reunited and it feels so good.”
