Christmas in Tahoe on Hallmark: What is it About?
Claire (Laura Osnes) is a talent booker at her family’s hotel and casino in Lake Tahoe. When the act she booked cancels, her friend Jackson (Pat Monahan) reminds her that she knows someone famous who could help. That would be her ex-boyfriend, Ryan (Kyle Selig), who’s the lead guitarist in a popular band.
See, Claire was the one who helped Ryan’s band initially break out, but he dropped her in favor of a bigger management company down the line. While back in Tahoe to spend the holidays with his family, Ryan offers to help Claire find a replacement act. Claire tries to put the past behind her, but feelings resurface – does she need Ryan as much as he may need her?
Who is in the Christmas in Tahoe Cast?
Laura Osnes as Claire
Laura Osnes is known for her work on Broadway, starring in leads of Bonnie & Clyde, Cinderella, Grease, and Bandstand. More recently, she’s starred in a few Hallmark movies, including 2020’s One Royal Holiday and 2021’s Raise a Glass to Love.
She posted a look at the trailer for Christmas in Tahoe, along with some behind the scenes photos to her Instagram. Check it all out below:
Kyle Selig as Ryan
Kyle Selig is an actor who also has Broadway roots. On TV, you may have seen him in episodes of Madam Secretary or Welcome to Flatch. In theater, he originated the role of Aaron Samuels in the 2018 musical adaption of Mean Girls. He starred alongside his now-fiancee Erika Henningsen in the play (she portrayed Cady Heron), and the two began dating in 2017, according to PEOPLE.
Given his stage talent, it’s no wonder Kyle will be performing “Shake Up Christmas” with Train’s Pat Monahan (who’s also starring in the film).

Laura Osnes is Super Tight with Her Family
Did you know Laura Osnes is very close to her family? She has been posting such cute full family pictures on Instagram. She is married to her husband, Nathan. They have been happily married since 2007.
She and her extended family like to hang out together on the lake. Look at this happy shot from the summer. “Morning snuggles, lazy lake days, and taco nights with the chosen fam. This is what life is all about,” she wrote.
The fun doesn’t stop in the summer. October is another busy month for the Osnes family! “🍁October 🚙Road trips 🎂Birthdays 👨👩👦👦Family 👩🏻🤝👨🏼Friends” Laura wrote.
The Music in Christmas in Tahoe

Hallmark brought us behind the scenes of their 2021 Christmas movie starring Laura Osnes, Christmas in Tahoe. “I was especially excited about this one because A, it’s Christmas and we all love Christmas. Secondly, there’s a rock star in this show,” she exclaimed.
Who is that rock star? Pat Monahan, singer from the band Train. “This is a really cool story actually, it’s so fun and light,” he said. “The cast is super cool,” he added.
Are you curious if the cast is really singing? Kyle confessed, “I get to sing with Train at the end of this!” In case you didn’t know, Laura is a professional singer herself! She starred as Sandy on Grease years ago on Broadway.
