What is A Big Fat Family Christmas About?
Liv Chang (Shannon Chan-Kent) is a photographer at the San Francisco Chronicle and lives a low-key life. As a social media influencer, she goes by the name Liv Rose. Her family, on the other hand, represents something a bit more loud, proud and Chinese. They are the infamous Chang family, responsible for throwing the biggest, annual holiday block party in the neighborhood. Their party is a celebration of Chinese American culture, which Liv thinks is over the top.
She has managed to keep her family a secret until she is forced to partner with Henry (Shannon Kook), a new coworker, to cover the annual celebration. Liv and Henry work closely together to capture the story behind party and, in a moment of fun, almost ruin it by losing all the donations from the community. Liv’s resolve to make things right for her family and the community forces her to overcome her resistance to her heritage and open up to her followers for help. Ultimately this helps her find herself and true love in the process.

Shannon Chan-Kent is a Canadian actress. She has done voice work as well as live-action TV and film. Fans may recognize her from You on Netflix and Freeform’s Good Trouble. Aside from acting, Shannon is a LEK FIT instructor.
Shannon Kook as Henry
Shannon Kook is known for his roles on Degrassi: The Next Generation, The 100 and in the Conjuring movie franchise. This will be the 35-year-old’s first Hallmark Channel original holiday movie. When he’s not working, Shannon enjoys spending time outdoors and with his dog Nala.
