In 2021, Lifetime aired an original movie based on a true story. It was called Secrets of a Marine’s Wife. This movie surrounded Erin and Jon Corwin, a married couple. Who was Erin Corwin?
Erin was born in 1984. She was a foster child, taken in by a family in Tennessee where she grew up. In the Hulu documentary, Beyond the Headlines: Secrets of a Marine’s Wife her foster mother talks about who she was growing up.
As a young girl, she was homeschooled and was very active as an equestrian and in the church youth group. Her mother described her as “very loyal” and when you were with her, you felt like the only person in the world. She certainly had a knack with animals, those that knew her called her the “pet whisperer.”
Where is Christopher Lee Now?
In the movie on Lifetime, you will see Christopher Lee (portrayed by Tom Stevens) get arrested while he was driving in the car with his wife and kids. The real Chris Lee was ultimately sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in November 2016. He is currently being held in the California Institution for Men, located in Chino, San Bernardino County.
Where is Jon Corwin Now?
Jon Corwin was the military husband of Erin Corwin. In 2016, he sat down for an interview with Dateline to tell his story. He recounted the final moments he had with Erin when they both woke up and she kissed him goodbye before she left for her day.
United States Marine Jonathan Corwin is still serving his country. It appears that he created his own Instagram profile in 2020. His very first post talks about how he is getting healthier. He wrote, “Starting on a new path to better myself, working out daily, eating right, studying in my downtime, playing with my son, and learning to be happy with myself. Big things are coming over the horizon. Thanks Bob for helping me get back into it. Hope I can look back at this a year later and see big progress, Now let’s get better!”
It appears that he now has children of his own, but it hasn’t been confirmed. He posted this photo of a young boy and girl at Halloween.

What Does Her Mother Have to Say?
In the Beyond the Headlines documentary on Hulu, Erin’s mother spoke out. She said she was there every day of her daughter’s trial because it felt like the last time she would be able to support her. “The hardest thing was when they did the demonstration with the dummy,” she confessed.
“I just closed my eyes and prayed,” her mother said. “I didn’t need to see it.”
When Chris was found guilty, Erin’s mother said she felt a sense of relief that he would have consequences for his actions.
