Toying with the Holidays on Lifetime: What is the Movie About?

Workaholic designer Danielle (Cindy Busby) returns to her hometown of Holly Pines with her young son Paul to introduce him to some beloved holiday traditions, including the North Pole Express train. When she discovers the North Pole Express has been sidelined, she reconnects with former high school classmate Kevin (Chad Michael Murray), now hobbyist and model train enthusiast himself. Together, Danielle and Kevin attempt to pull off a Christmas miracle, and quite possibly give Danielle a few reasons – even a romantic one! – to consider staying in Holly Pines for good.

Who is in the Toying with the Holidays Cast?

Cindy Busby as Danielle

Cindy Busby is a Canadian actress best known for portraying Ashley Stanton on Heartland. Other notables of hers include Lifetime’s The Wrong Stepmother, Picture This opposite Ashley Tisdale, and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ A Godwink Christmas: Meant for Love. Aside from her role in Toying with the Holidays alongside Chad, Cindy wrapped the film Honey Girls with Ashanti this year too. Cindy’s very active on social media, both on Twitter and Instagram. Chad Michael Murray as Kevin

Chad Michael Murray is probably best known for his role as Lucas Scott in the WB/CW series One Tree Hill. Dubbed a “teen heartthrob” of the 2000s, he held leads in popular films like A Cinderella Story with Hilary Duff and Freaky Friday with Lindsay Lohan. Chad also recurred on Gilmore Girls and Dawson’s Creek. In more recent years, you may have seen him on Sun Records, Star, and Riverdale. Or, perhaps any number of the made-for-TV movies he’s done, including Lifetime’s Too Close for Christmas and Hallmark’s Sand Dollar Cove. 2021 was a busy year for Chad – he portrayed Ted Bundy in Ted Bundy: American Boogeyman, starred with Bruce Willis in Survive the Game, and starred in Angel Falls Christmas. He’s married to wife Sarah Roemer with whom he has two kids.
