‘The Good Father: The Martin MacNeill Story’ on Lifetime Plot – Based on a True Story
Tom Everett Scott plays Dr. Martin MacNeill in the Lifetime original movie. Dr. Martin MacNeill was a respected doctor and pillar of the local community. He was happily married to his wife Michele and they together had 8 children. His daughter, Alexis adored her father and wanted to follow in his footsteps to become a doctor.
However, plans soon change after Dr. MacNeill encourages his wife to go for plastic surgery. This decision ultimately leads to her drowning. Now just a few weeks after his wife mysteriously passed away, the doctor brings home a live-in nanny, Gypsy Willis. Gypsy is not only his children’s nanny but his mistress as well.
This causes Alexis to question everything she ever thought about her father, discovering the depth of his lies. It boils down to bogus medical credentials, false military records, and to question if this man was really capable of murder.

Tom Everett Scott as Dr. Martin MacNeill
Tom Everett Scott is an American actor well known for his role in La La Land and 13 Reasons Why. He was even the voice of Santa Paws in Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Scott married Jenni Gallagher whom he met while attending Syracuse University in 1997. Together, the couple have a daughter, Arly (June 6, 2000) and a son, Finn (October 20, 2004).
The 51-year old actor posted a sweet message to his wife on Instagram. He said, “This beautiful woman has been the heart, soul and rock of this family. She’s had to hold down the fort and raise 2 incredible people most of the time on her own while I was out playing pretend. I am so grateful and lucky. Love you Jenni. Happy Mother’s Day.”
Charisma Carpenter as Michele MacNeill
Charisma Carpenter is an American actress best known for her roles in Charmed and Veronica Mars. You may also recognize her from the 2003 movie See Jane Date and on Netflix’s No Good Nick.
She portrays Michele MacNeill, the wife of Dr. Martin McNeill in the Lifetime movie.
The 51-year old actress married Damian Hardy in 2002 in Las Vegas. Together, they have a son named Donovan Charles Hardy. Unfortunately, the couple divorced in 2008.
