Hallmark Movies & Mysteries continues to roll out new movies this year and up next is Spring Breakthrough, starring Keesha Sharp and Demetrius Grosse. The film is a new Mahogany presentation, which follows the brand’s content expansion into films told through the lens of Black women. Below, get details on the plot, see photos and more.

Spring Breakthrough Plot

Monica Rollins (Keesha Sharp) is a single mother waiting for her daughter, Vivian (Rhyon Nicole Brown, “Our Kind of Love,” “Empire”) to come home for spring break. Days before, Monica was fired from her job. To make matters worse, Vivian announces her surprise engagement to Shawn (Akono Dixon, “All American,” “Euphoria”), someone Monica didn’t even know existed until now! So, Monica’s off to The Gulf Shores for the engagement celebration, wanting to stop it because she thinks her daughter’s too young to get married. On the way there, she meets Clark Randall (Demetrius Grosse) at the airport. He just so happens to be Shawn’s godfather and an unexpected flirtation occurs. Monica and Clark don’t see eye-to-eye at first (she thinks he’s immature). But, as they learn more about each other, she begins to have a change of heart. Maybe Monica’s ready to open herself up to love again.

The Cast of Spring Breakthrough – Who’s Who?

Keesha Sharp as Monica Rollins

Keesha Sharp is an American actress best known for her roles in Power Book II: Ghost, Lethal Weapon and The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. In addition, she recurred on Empire and The Good Fight. Upcoming for Sharp are two films, Dark My Light and Heist 88. In addition to acting in television and film, Keesha’s an accomplished theater performer and singer.

In 1997, Keesha married husband Bradford Sharp. They have one child together, a son named Solomon.

Demetrius Grosse as Clark Randall

Demetrius Grosse is an American actor known for his work on Cabinet of Curiosities, Fear the Walking Dead, Game of Silence and Justified. He was a series regular on The Brave and Banshee, and recurred on Frontier and The Rookie. Recently, Grosse shot two pilots for ABC and will appear in the upcoming series Wonder Man for Disney Plus.
