What is Santa Bootcamp About?

When event planner, Emily Strauss (Emily Kinney, The Walking Dead), is hired by mall magnate, Ed Mancini (Patrick Cassidy, Castle) to stage the ultimate Christmas Gala for his most important investors, Emily finds herself being sent to bootcamp – Santa Bootcamp – to find the perfect Santa and inspiration she will need to make the evening a success.

While there, Emily meets Belle (Rita Moreno, West Side Story), the bootcamp’s drill sergeant with a heart of gold, who helps Emily rediscover the magic of Christmas and find romance along the way. Additional casting includes Tony® award winner Marissa Jaret Winokur, Justin Gaston, John Schuck, and deaf actors Deanne Bray and Zyra Singleton.

Emily Kinney as Emily Strauss

She is an American actress and singer. You may recognize her best from her role in The Walking Dead on AMC as Beth Greene. She also had parts in The Flash and Arrow on the CW.

The 37 year old actress hails from Lincoln, Nebraska. She is 5’5″ tall. Emily really loves performing live. You can see her here in this photo from Instagram on stage with Curtis Peoples.

Patrick Cassidy as Ed Mancini

Patrick is an American actor and singer from Los Angeles, California. He is actually the son of Shirley Jones and Jack Cassidy. Patrick comes from a famous family and is also the uncle of Arrow star Katie Cassidy.

He was thrilled to act alongside Rita Moreno. This photo was posted to his Instagram page and he wrote, “Getting to act with Rita Moreno was such a blessing. At 90, she is still perfection. I’m so grateful. #ritamoreno #lifetimemovies #christmasmovies”

Look who else makes an appearance in the Lifetime original movie – Marissa Winkour. Patrick wrote, “Shooting a Lifetime Christmas movie “Santa’s Bootcamp” with Rita Moreno, and longtime friend Marissa Winokur. Getting in a little acting, before starting rehearsals for AIDA.”

Rita Moreno as Belle

Rita is a Puerto Rican singer and actress. She is best known for her role in Singin in the Rain and West Side Story. Her full name is Rosa Dolores Alverío Marcano and she is 90 years old.

She posted a photo with her beautiful daughter to celebrate National Daughters Day. “Posting this shot of my daughter for #NationalDaughtersDay a day later, but on one of my favorite days of the year, her birthday – Happy Birthday Nandy!!” she wrote.
