Navigating Christmas is a new original movie premiering November 17, 2023 on Hallmark Channel. It’s part of their annual Countdown to Christmas event, and joins other originals such as Christmas Island and Everything Christmas. Navigating Christmas Plot

Melanie (Chelsea Hobbs) faces her first Christmas by herself after the divorce. This is because her ex-husband plans to take their son Jason (Everett Andres, “Virgin River”) on a snowboarding trip. When he cancels at the last-minute, Melanie scrambles to find a fun backup plan for Christmas. Unfortunately, everything is booked. Except for, however, the lighthouse on St. Nicholas Island. A rocky ferry ride starts their trip off on the wrong foot. But, to make matters worse, they arrive to find the lighthouse isn’t like the photo.

When Melanie meets the owner at the local cafe, she’s dismayed to discover it’s the smug ferry passenger named Peter (Stephen Huszar). He informs her that she booked an experience with lighthouse duties, including decorating it for the Christmas Festival. Although Peter isn’t a fan of Christmas, he helps Melanie and Jason out. Peter also teaches Jason Morse code and the two begin to bond. As they continue to decorate and participate in holiday festivities, Melanie and Peter also grow close. But, Peter’s harboring a secret about his family’s lighthouse. When Jason overhears them talking and learns the real reason his dad canceled, he takes off. Melanie, Peter and their new friends search for Jason. But, the lighthouse may help navigate a Christmas miracle for all of them.

Chelsea Hobbs as Melanie

Chelsea Hobbs starred in Dream Moms and The Holiday Sitter on Hallmark Channel. Aside from that, Hobbs is known for portraying Emily Kmetko on the ABC Family (now Freeform) series Make It or Break It. In addition, Chelsea’s appeared in a variety of Lifetime movies, including Left for Dead and Killer in the Guest House. She starred in the Martha’s Vineyard Mysteries franchise for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries as well. Chelsea was married to Teren Oddo, but they divorced. They had two children together. In 2020, she married James Neate, with whom she also has two kids.

Stephen Huszar as Peter

Stephen Huszar appeared in A Royal Christmas Crush on Hallmark and The Jane Mysteries: Inheritance Lost for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. On TV, Huszar guested on shows such as The Fringe, Smallville, Supernatural, The Flash and Letterkenny. Stephen also recurred on season 6 of Hallmark’s Chesapeake Shores. Additional credits include the Ruby Herring Mysteries franchise on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, as well as Undercover Holiday and Love in Glacier National: A National Park Romance for Hallmark. Stephen’s currently in a relationship with actress Katie Cassidy. The two met while co-starring in A Royal Christmas Crush.
