‘Miracle in Motor City’ on Lifetime Starring Tia Mowry – Plot, Cast, Premiere, & Photos

Miracle in Motor City will air on Lifetime in November on Thanksgiving Day weekend as part of their ‘It’s a Wonderful Lifetime’ movie event. This movie follows the network’s kickoff last weekend with An Ice Wine Christmas. Get details on the plot and cast, see photos, and even a sneak peek.

Miracle in Motor City: What is the Movie About?

When Amber Dupont (Tia Mowry) takes over her church’s annual Christmas pageant and promises a special performance by Smokey Robinson, her friends get her former flame Eddie (Mark Taylor) to help out. During their search for Smokey, the pair reconnect. But, their focus remains on convincing the legendary Motown performer to appear at the pageant. In the end, Amber, Eddie, their family and friends, along with Smokey Robinson come together for the most special pageant yet.

Who is in the Miracle in Motor City Cast?

Tia Mowry as Amber Dupont

Tia Mowry is perhaps best known for starring in the sitcom Sister, Sister with her twin sister Tamera Mowry. Coincidentally, her sister Tamera recently starred in a Hallmark Channel holiday film called The Santa Stakeout.

On her own, Tia held roles in The Game, Instant Mom, and currently can be seen on Family Reunion. She and her sister also had a reality show for 2 years on the Style Network, appropriately titled Tia & Tamera.

Tia Mowry’s Family Time

Tia got together with her family for Thanksgiving! In a photo posted to Instagram, you see Tia surrounded by her mother, brother Taj, husband, and children. “Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it means I get to spend time with the people I love most,” she wrote.

Mark Taylor as Eddie

Mark Taylor is a Canadian actor whom fans may remember from the 2000 film Seventeen Again, which actually co-starred both Tia and Tamera Mowry. While he and Tamera portrayed the main roles in the 2000 film, he stars opposite Tia in Miracle in Motor City.

He regrammed Tia’s BTS video from set where they did a dance remix with some other cast members, writing: “We did dat tho!! 😄” You can see it below:

Mark had guest roles on shows like Remedy, and Covert Affairs; recurred on series such as the CW’s Beauty & The Beast and CBC’s Being Erica.

Where Does the Movie Take Place?

Tia Mowry joined GMA to discuss her newest Lifetime Christmas movie. “The movie takes place in Detroit,” she revealed. It is supposed to be set in Motown and Mr. Motown himself, none other than Smokey Robinson is in the film! “We are so honored to have him be part of this movie. Just being in his presence is wonderful. He is a legend and so incredibly talented,” she gushed. “He is the sweetest and most kind person you’ll ever meet,” she added!
