Love in Glacier National: A National Park Romance Plot

Heather (Ashley Newbrough) is a climatologist and avalanche expert who has her life down to a science. She’s dedicated her career to developing avalanche forecast technology to keep danger at bay on the mountains. When Glacier National Park hears of this impressive work, Heather is invited to install her equipment and teach her program to the Mountain Rescue Team. It’s there that she meets Chris (Stephen Huszar), the director of Mountain Rescue. Chris is confident, rugged, handsome…and skeptical of Heather’s new technology.

Things are a little bit icy between them since Heather has her data and he has real-world experience. Chris feels like he doesn’t need an algorithm to tell him how to navigate terrain. Although, he begins to lighten up when he realizes that like him, Heather simply wants to help save lives. Soon, they discover love is sweeping them off their feet, even if they don’t alw ays see eye to eye on everything.

When Chris is called to an emergency rescue mission in an area that Heather’s forecaster has flagged as high risk, she worries that he’ll be right in the path of a major avalanche. With time running out, Heather must convince Chris to let science guide him, as it’s sure to lead him not only to safety, but to the romance of his life.

Ashley Newbrough as Dr. Heather Lawrence

Ashley is a Canadian actress who kicked off her career as a cast member of Degrassi: The Next Generation. From there, she starred in series such as Privileged and Mistresses. Hallmark Channel fans will recognize Ashley from Love Under the Stars, A Merry Christmas Match and Small Town Christmas. She holds dual citizenship in the US and Canada, and currently calls Los Angeles home with boyfriend, actor Matt Shively.

Stephen Huszar as Chris Parker

Stephen is a Canadian actor. He’s well known for films like Milton’s Secret, Faces in the Crowd and Ferocious. On TV, Stephen portrayed Plunder in The CW’s The Flash and recurred on Crave TV’s Letterkenny. Most recently, he recurred on season 6 of Hallmark Channel’s Chesapeake Shores and starred in the network’s 2022 original film Undercover Holiday. When he’s not working, the 39-year-old is active on Instagram, sharing news about his upcoming projects and behind the scenes tidbits.
