What is Highway to Heaven About?

The original series was a highly rated drama from the 80’s that spanned over 100 episodes from 1984 – 1989. The new series hopes to address new-age social and emotional issues but this time with a female angel as the anchor.

It stars Barry Watson (The Loudest Voice) as a Junior High School principal named Bruce. Angela, an angel sent back to Earth by God to help others, played by Jill Scott (First Wives Club) reveals her true identity to Bruce. In the premiere, Angela assumes the role of a temporary school counselor while working besides the principal, Bruce. Angela finds herself intervening in the life of a troubled student named Cody and his father Jeff after they are dealing with the loss of Cody’s mother.

When it appears that Angela works miracles with the father and son pair, Bruce is in shock when he learns of the divine nature of Angela’s work.

Barry Watson is an American actor, best known for his starring role on the hit show, 7th Heaven as Matt Camden. He has been active in the business, being part of various tv shows and movies. Barry previously starred in A Very Nutty Christmas and the Santa Con on the Lifetime Network.

The 47 year old has been married three times. He was married to his first wife, Laura Payne-Gabriel from 1996 to 2002. Barry then married his ex-wife, Tracy Hutson in 2006 before divorcing in 2011. He has been married to his current wife, Natasha Gregson Wagner since 2014. Natasha hails from famous roots herself. Her mother was beloved actress, Natalie Wood who starred in Splendor in the Grass.

In an Instagram post, Barry was promoting a memoir his wife Natasha wrote about her famous mother, called More Than Love.

The 49-year old songwriter hails from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jill married her longtime boyfriend, Mike Dobson in 2016 in a private ceremony. However, in 2017, after only 15 months of marriage, the couple divorced.
