GAC to Launch Great American Mysteries with Candace Cameron Bure Headliner

Great American Family recently announced the launch of Great American Mysteries. They are mystery movie franchises that will star major GAC names. Leading off the launch is The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Winemaker. It will star Candace Cameron Bure and is based off of Candace Havens’ book of the same name. What is Great American Mysteries?

Per GAC’s press release, Great American Mysteries is the place for “thrilling whodunnits featuring beloved Great American Family stars.” The network will continue to announce new movie mystery series within the next few weeks.


What is The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Winemaker about?

Ainsley McGregor (Candace Cameron Bure) is a former Chicago criminologist. She recently returned to her hometown of Sweet River, Texas. Ainsley has chosen to trade full-time crime work to open Bless Your Arts, a market for artisans to sell crafts and wares. But, she cannot deny her first love is crime solving. So, she accepts a position teaching a criminology class at the local community college.

McGregor’s skills quickly become a major asset when a murder occurs at a winery in town. The business is owned by Ainsley’s friend, who now stands accused of the crime. Ainsley’s brother, aka: Sweet River Sheriff Ryan wants her to stay out of the investigation. But Ainsley knows the pieces of this puzzle do not fit. With unexpected help from the locals, Ainsley McGregor is back on the case to help her friend.


Who’s in the cast?

Candace Cameron Bure

Candace Cameron Bure has been a staple of Great American Family since its inception. The 47-year-old actress was previously crowned the “Queen of Christmas” during her years at Hallmark. Bure famously portrayed D.J. Tanner on Full House and its sequel series Fuller House. Most recently, Candace starred in My Christmas Hero on GAC. She is married to husband Valeri Bure with whom she has three children.

Aaron Ashmore

Aaron Ashmore recently recurred on the popular Netflix series Ginny & Georgia. The 44-year-old Canadian actor held roles on Smallville, In Plain Sight, Lost Girl, Warehouse 13 and Netflix’s Locke & Key. Aaron’s done made-for-TV movies for Lifetime such as The Santa Squad and Wish Upon a Christmas. In film, Ashmore appeared in titles like Conception, Regression, The Retreat and most recently, Suze. In 2014, he married wife Zoë Kate and they have two kids. He grew up in British Columbia with his twin brother, fellow actor Shawn Ashmore.


Anything else to know about the Great American Mysteries movie starring Candace Cameron Bure?

The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Winemaker is a Syrup Studios production. It’s in association with Candace’s Candy Rock Entertainment company. Candace Cameron Bure will also serve as an executive producer.

“Mysteries are so fun to watch and to try to solve. I hope our faithful fans and audiences fall in love with the townspeople of Sweet River, Texas and Ainsley McGregor’s keen eye for solving mysteries,” Candace told GAC.


Is there a trailer? When will it premiere?

As of now, there is no trailer out yet for The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Winemaker. No premiere date has been set for the new movie either. But, be sure to follow Candace Cameron Bure on Instagram to keep up to date on this new project.
