Hallmark Channel continues to roll out new holiday movies as part of their annual Countdown to Christmas event. The next one on the list is Christmas Island, which premieres November 11, 2023. Starring Rachel Skarsten and Andrew Walker, the film follows a pilot forced to divert her plane to Christmas Island. Below are more details on the plot, cast, and photos.

Christmas Island Plot

Kate Gabriel (Rachel Skarsten) is a talented commercial pilot. She is flying the Sharpe family to Switzerland and hopes this gig will turn into a full-time job as their private pilot. During the flight however, a snowstorm forces her to make an unexpected landing in Maritimes, Canada. Kate is hesitant to divert the plane, but Air Traffic Control Officer Oliver Macleod (Andrew Walker) insists it’s the only option. Kate and the Sharpes are taken in by host families on Christmas Island, where locals are known for their Maritime hospitality.

To keep her hopes for a full-time job alive, Kate must ensure the Sharpes find their holiday spirit and embrace the local holiday traditions. Much to Kate’s chagrin, it just so happens that Oliver and his family organize the festivities. Forced to team up, they help the Sharpes discover the joys of Maritimes, like the Lobster Trap tree lighting ceremony honoring fallen fishermen. Can Kate and Oliver’s efforts help bring the holiday spirit to the Sharpes? And will Kate discover romance in this unexpected place?

Rachel Skarsten as Kate Gabriel

Rachel Skarsten recently appeared in The Royal Nanny for Hallmark Channel and the CW series Batwoman. Other credits include Birds of Prey, Lost Girl, Reign, Wyonna Earp and Imposters. On the big screen, Skarsten starred in Fifty Shades of Grey, The Vow and Molly’s Game. The 38-year-old Canadian actress is married to husband Alexandre Robicquet.

Andrew Walker as Oliver Macleod

Andrew Walker starred in Hallmark’s A Safari Romance and Three Wise Men and A Baby. He’s a popular Hallmark actor, and has appeared in over 20 films for the network. Some titles include Bottled with Love, Merry & Bright, My Christmas Family Tree, Christmas on My Mind and most recently, Maple Valley Christmas. Additional credits include films like Steel Toes and God Bless the Broken Road, as well as TV series such as ER and Without a Trace. The 44-year-old Canadian actor is married to wife Cassandra Troy with whom he has two children.
