Christmas at the Golden Dragon is an all-new original movie coming to Hallmark Channel this month. It’s part of their annual Countdown to Christmas lineup and will air on November 13. Find out where it was filmed, who’s a part of the cast, what the plot is and more below.

What is Christmas at the Golden Dragon About?

When Romy and Rick’s parents surprise them with the news that they will be closing the Chinese restaurant they have owned and operated for decades, the siblings each find themselves reevaluating their futures. Also impacted by the news are the landmark restaurant’s loyal patrons and staff, who have all come to depend on the restaurant over the holidays. Can things come together during the holiday season? And will their relationships withstand the pressures?

Who is in the Cast? Meet the Stars!

Kara Wang as Romy Chen

Kara Wang is a Chinese American actress from Los Angeles, California. From 2010-2015, she resided in Hong Kong and Beijing where she acted in 20+ Chinese films. After going back to LA in 2015, she booked roles on Freeform’s Good Trouble and Amazon’s Goliath. Her latest big screen movie is Top Gun: Maverick where she portrayed Lt. Callie ‘Halo’ Bassett.

When she’s not working, she spends a lot of time with her family, friends, and adorable dogs.

Osric Chau as Rick Chen

Osric Chau is a Canadian actor best known for his role as Kevin Tran in the CW series Supernatural. Additional CW shows to his name include The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow as Ryan Choi. Most recently, you may have seen Osric on a 2022 episode of Star Trek: Discovery. Aside from this Hallmark movie, he held roles in films like Status Update and Fun Size.

On social media, Osric often posts about his career moves, including jumping into directing, as well as his hobbies, such as rock climbing. No wonder he has 590K followers on Instagram!

Markian Tarasiuk as Blake

Markian Tarasiuk is a Ukrainian Canadian actor who grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After graduating from the Studio 58 Theatre program, he made his TV debut on Disney’s Bunk’d. Like his co-star Osric, Markian also appeared in Status Update. TV movies like Wedding Cake Dreams, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ A Homecoming for the Holidays and Our Italian Christmas Memories round out his credits.

He’s been with girlfriend Lauren Jackson for almost 8 years now. Their anniversary is December 1.

Filming for Christmas at the Golden Dragon took place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Pre-production began in July 2022 and filming wrapped mid-August.
