‘Cellmate Secrets: Casey Anthony’ on Lifetime – Premiere Date, Sneak Peek, Interview with Cellmates

‘Cellmate Secrets: Casey Anthony’ will be airing in a lineup of a total of six docu-series episodes. They will revisit the most infamous stories as part of Lifetime’s Summer of Secrets. Angie Harmon narrates. First up is the trial of Casey Anthony, the mom accused of murdering her daughter.

‘Cellmate Secrets: Casey Anthony’ on Lifetime – Background

In 2008, two-year old Caylee Anthony was reported missing by her grandmother. Caylee’s mom, Casey was questioned by police and when she kept changing her story, the cops became suspicious. She even claimed the babysitter kidnapped her daughter in an attempt to cover up the truth. Casey was arrested for lying to the police and charged with first degree murder.

Fast forward 3 years, in 2011, Caylee’s mom, Casey was found NOT guilty of the murder of Caylee. She was released from jail on July 17, 2011 and served time. Lifetime spoke exclusively to Casey’s former cellmates in the new docu-series episode.

Former cellmate, Robyn Adams shared that Casey lured her into a deep friendship during her jailtime. Casey was even able to convince the prison guard working on their shifts to help her. Silvia Hernandez admits that she risked her job to help Casey and Robyn meetup several times. Silvia went as far to detail how she feels her life was ruined when she got involved with both jailmates.

Before the Cellmate episode airs, Lifetime will air the original 2013 Lifetime film depicting the case. It stars Rob Lowe as Jeff Ashton, the Florida prosecutor in the Caylee Anthony trial. Afterwards, Jeff went on to write the book, “Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony” which the movie is based upon.

The movie will take the viewers on the journey of Jeff Ashton, as they reveal his story of the case that captivated America and shocked us all when Casey was acquitted of murder.

It airs on Lifetime, June 4, 2021 at 8pm EST.
