Lifetime is taking “thriller” to new heightsโ€”literally. On Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 8:00 PM, the network premieres Pushed Off a Plane and Survived, a heart-pounding film that follows the miraculous survival of a woman betrayed by the one person she trusted most.

Following the massive success of Lifetimeโ€™s Buried Alive and Survived, the original creative team and cast reunite for another “survived” installment that proves truth (and scripted drama) can be stranger than fiction.

The Plot: A Skydiving Trip Turned Nightmare

Jaynie (Eva Marcille) thinks sheโ€™s heading out for an adventurous skydiving trip with her husband, Cole (Tyler Lepley). Instead, she finds herself plummeting 4,000 feet toward the earth after Cole sabotages her equipment.

Miraculously, Jaynie cheats death. As she battles through a grueling recovery from devastating injuries, the “accident” begins to look more like a cold-blooded attempted murder. Jaynie soon discovers that Cole isnโ€™t just a traitorโ€”heโ€™s a professional con artist with a web of lies spanning years. Now, she must use every ounce of her remaining strength to expose him before he can finish what he started.

Meet the Cast & Crew

Fans of All The Queens Men and The Real Housewives of Atlanta will recognize the powerhouse leads:

  • Eva Marcille as Jaynie: The resilient survivor determined to bring her husband to justice.
  • Tyler Lepley as Cole: The charming but deadly husband hiding a dark double life.
  • Brendan Wentworth as Detective Rice: The investigator tasked with piecing together the truth behind the fall.

Behind the Scenes: The film is produced by Swirl Films with executive producers Eric Tomosunas, Manu Boyer, and Ron Robinson. Manu Boyer directs a sharp, suspenseful script written by Gregory Small and Richard Blaney.

Did You Know? Real-Life Survival Against the Odds

While Jaynieโ€™s 4,000-foot fall is a fictionalized thriller, history is full of “miracle survivors” who fell from the sky and lived to tell the tale:

Fact vs. Fiction: The True Story Behind the Fall

While Pushed Off a Plane and Survived features the fictional characters Jaynie and Cole, the movie draws heavy inspiration from the 2015 Victoria Cilliers case, which remains one of the most diabolical attempted murders in history.

Here is how the Lifetime movie compares to the real-life “Parachute Murder Plot”:

FeatureThe Movie (Jaynie & Cole)The Real Story (Victoria & Emile)
The JumpJaynie falls 4,000 feet during a skydiving trip.Victoria fell 4,000 feet over Netheravon Airfield, UK.
The BetrayalCole sabotages her gear to hide his life as a con artist.Emile removed “slinks” from her chutes to claim ยฃ120,000 in life insurance.
The SurvivalJaynie miraculously survives with devastating injuries.Victoria survived because she landed in a soft, newly ploughed field.
The Secret LifeCole is a master manipulator and liar.Emile was deeply in debt and having multiple affairs (including one on Tinder).
The “First Attempt”The movie hints at a web of previous lies.Emile had tried to kill Victoria and their kids via a gas leak just days before.

The “Miracle” in the Ploughed Field

In the real case, Vic toria Cilliers was a highly experienced instructor with over 2,600 jumps. When both her main and reserve chutes failed (a 1-in-a-million occurrence), witnesses were so sure she had died that they brought a body bag to her landing site. Like Jaynie in the film, she suffered a broken spine and pelvis but lived to see her husband sentenced to life in prison

Editor’s Note: Much like the real Victoria, Jaynieโ€™s journey in the film isn’t just about physical recoveryโ€”it’s about the psychological battle of realizing the person you love is a predator.
