Summer’s barely started, but Great American Family is always thinking of Christmas. The network has announced its newest installment of Great American Christmas 2024 with A Vintage Christmas. It will star fan-favorites Merritt Patterson and Christopher Russell. Learn more about this new movie below, including the plot and why GAC thinks viewers are sure to enjoy it.
What is A Vintage Christmas about?
Tessa (Merritt Patterson) is a dedicated historian and preservationist in her hometown of Oak Creek, an old-fashioned and passionate protector of the nostalgic. Sparks fly when a business developer, Noah (Christopher Russell) arrives in Oak Creek with plans to tear down an abandoned Post Office and replace it with a sleek, modern office complex. There are internal and external struggles among many in the community to arrive at a solution that serves the greater good for all concerned. As the clock ticks toward Christmas, the race to settle the dispute through concessions and compromise is on.
Who are Merritt Patterson and Christopher Russell?
Merritt Patterson starred in Jingle Bell Princess, Catering Christmas, One Perfect Match and ‘Twas the Text Before Christmas for GAC. Prior to that, she appeared in The Royals, Ravenswood, Radio Rebel, and a number of Hallmark movies. The 33-year-old Canadian actress is married to husband JR Ringer.
Christopher Russell starred in A Dash of Christmas and Peppermint and Postcards for Great American Family. Russell also recently starred in Hallmark Channel’s original holiday movie, The Secret Gift of Christmas. Christopher’s starred in other Hallmark films such as Merry Matrimony, Love Unleashed, Chasing Waterfalls and Love in the Forecast. The 41-year-old Canadian actor is married to wife Tailor; they have two children named Ella and Jackson.

A Vintage Christmas is one of many new, original holiday movies coming to Great American Family for their annual Great American Christmas lineup. A Vintage Christmas premiere date has not been shared yet. But, fans can get their Christmas fix next month with GAC’s Christmas in July event.
