Hallmark Channel presents ‘As Luck Would Have It’ as part of their Spring Fling movie event. The Hallmark original movie stars JoAnna Garcia Swisher and Allen Leech. It was filmed on location in Ireland.
‘As Luck Would Have It’ Plot
What is the movie about?
Lindsey Johnson, played by JoAnna Garcia Swisher is sent to a town on the coast in Ireland for her work. While there, she is tasked with acquiring a valuable piece of land so they can build a hotel resort. But there is a catch. There is a 14th century castle sitting on it, which is managed by the town council. The town council refuses to sell the land to anyone who wants to tear the castle down.
The most understanding worker in the town is Brennan O’Brien (Allen Leech), a handsome councilman. While Lindsey is on the job, the town’s annual, world-renowned matchmaking festival filled with local activities is taking place. Lindsey takes this chance as her opportunity to prove she is suited to invest in the town – and also suited for Brennan. However, the last thing she’s truly looking for is love.
After days of soda-bread baking, knitting classes and a trip to the Cliffs of Moher, Lindsey
realizes that she may just be falling head over heels for her councilman. Now committed to saving the castle, her career and a new chance at love, Lindsey will need more than just a little luck.
Who is in the ‘As Luck Would Have It’ Cast?

You may best recognize JoAnna from her longtime role on the show “Reba.” The popular show starring country music star, Reba McEntire ran for six years. JoAnna played Reba’s daughter, Cheyenne Montgomery. “Reba” garnered the highest ratings for a comedy on the WB. Her participation on the show actually earned JoAnna a Teen Choice Award nomination.
Currently, Garcia Swisher stars in Netflix’s “Sweet Magnolias.” Set in the small town of Serenity, South Carolina, the show is based on a Sherryl Woods book series about three women who have been best friends since childhood. Jamie Lynn Spears, Heather Headley and Brooke Elliott also star. The first season premiered on Netflix in 2020 and has been renewed for a second season.
The 41-year old actress has been married to baseball player, Nick Swisher since December 2010. The couple have two daughters together; one born in 2013 and the other in 2016.
On St. Patrick’s Day, JoAnna Garcia Swisher posted a teaser to her newest Hallmark movie with a photo of herself at the beach saying, “Thought #stpatricksday would be the perfect time to start giving you all little sneak peeks at what I was up to in Ireland last month 🍀 #tbt #asluckwouldhaveit“
Allen Leech as Brennan O’Brien
Fans will best recognize Leech from his role of Tom Branson in the hit series, “Downtown Abbey.” He also reprised his role of Tom Branson when they rolled out the series’ film, Downtown Abbey.
Leech also co-starred in Fox’s Bohemian Rhapsody, the hit movie on the story of the band Queen.
The 39-year old actor was actually born in Ireland where ‘As Luck Would Have It’ was filmed. He has been married to actress Jessica Blair Herman since 2019 and the couple have one child together.
