Rose Davis was Gabby Petito’s real life best friend. She played a big role in Lifetime’s 2022 “The Gabby Petito Story.” Rose was portrayed by actress Monica Moore Smith.

Who Is Rose Davis?

Rose was Gabby’s BFF when she moved to Florida with her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie. Rose was 21 at the time she met Gabby and lived in Sarasota, Florida. As depicted in the Lifetime movie, Rose had her questions about Laundrie way before he took the life of Gabby Petito.

Rose said she noticed Laundrie’s manipulative and controlling tendencies towards Gabby. He exuded a jealous streak and prevented her from going out one night by hiding her ID.

There was an instance where Gabby and Rose planned to have a fun night out on the town, just the two girls. Laundrie did not want Gabby going out and having fun without him. In an attempt to stop her, he reached into her purse and kept her ID home so she wouldn’t be able to get into the club.

Was Rose Scared of Brian Laundrie?

Yes. When she knew he was missing, there was a part of her that was nervous that he could be coming for her. She knew that he knew where she lived and was not fond of her.

Rose was right about where he could be hiding out though. Before her friend was found, she told the Daily Mail

, “He is out in the wilderness, I promise you.”

Gabby’s BFF also didn’t believe Brian had any help with his hideout. Rose added that he, “did not have any friends.”

She also revealed that Brian and Gabby would have brutal arguments, leading Gabby to drive over to her home and spend the night on multiple occasions.

Rose filmed a video describing her thoughts and emotions throughout the terror.

How did Rose Meet Gabby?

The two girls met on Bumble. You may know of Bumble as a dating app, but they also offer to get friends together. They both were signed up with Bumble for Friends. Gabby wrote, “you seem so cool, I want to be friends. Can we be friends?” That’s how the two young women connected, quickly meeting up and hitting it off. The two became quick BFFs, creating TikToks together and were insparable.

When asked what they liked doing together, Rose said our first “go to” was this ice cream shop. Unfortunately, it closed down though. “We joked around and said she was my emotional service human,” Rose said.
