‘The Baker’s Son’ on Hallmark Channel – Cast, Where It Was Filmed, Photos & More

Hallmark Channel has a brand new lineup for their 2021 Summer movie event. Airing after You Had Me At Aloha will be The Baker’s Son. It stars Eloise Mumford and Brant Daugherty.

‘The Baker’s Son’ Plot

What is the movie about?

When a ballet dancer visits the island of Windward, their local baker Matt (Daughtery) is absolutely enamored. This dancer inspires Matt so much that it turns his baking from bland to brilliant. His delicious baked goods start attracting tourists which boosts the small island community.

Unfortunately, when the dancer leaves Matt, he is heartbroken and his bread promptly loses all its power and magic. The community immediately tries to help Matt find another muse but everyone overlooks such an obvious choice – Annie (Mumford). Annie is not only the owner of the local café, but the best friend and confidant who loved him all along.

Who is in the ‘The Baker’s Son’ Cast?

Eloise Mumford as Annie

Eloise was a 2009 graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She is best known for playing the lead on FOX’s “Lone Star” alongside Jimmy Wolk and Jon Voight. You may also recognize her from playing Dakota Johnson’s best friend in all three movies of Fifty Shades of Grey. Mumford currently has a recurring role on the hit NBC show, “Chicago Fire.”

The 34-year old Washington born actress just celebrated the love she has for her mother on Mother’s Day. She said, “every breath i take is a celebration of your fierce love, in all its riotous joy and unending magic. you’re the best, mom ♥️”

Brant Daughtery as Matt

Brant Daughtery is best known for her role as Noel Kahn on the hit series, “Pretty Little Liars.” He also played a role in Fifty Shades Freed, the third movie in the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise.

Brant also tried his dancing skills by competing on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” Season 17 with his partner Peta Murgatroyd. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California with his wife and their child, who was born in Spring 2021. Brant posted this sweet family photo, gushing on his wife, Kimberly.

Where Did They Film the Movie?

‘The Baker’s Son’ was filmed in the beautiful city of Vancouver, Canada. It takes place in the fictional Winward Pier.

Is Brant a Real Baker?

No, definitely not! Brant admitted that he never made or baked bread before filming this movie. They invited a real baker on set to give him lessons. “We brought in a master baker and he showed me how to condense 40 years into one afternoon,” Brant said.

Fun bonus fact! Brant’s real life wife was in labor while he was filming his Hallmark Channel movie. “I go on zoom during takes to check in,” he laughed.
