The story took a deeper twist when the bodies of Hannah’s mother and brother were found in the home of their family friend, James DiMaggio. Police discovered this later on in the same day Hannah was abducted. An AMBER alert and manhunt was issued for Hannah. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
For 7 days straight, the 16 year old was kept as DiMaggio’s prisoner as they attempted to make their way across the state of California. The two were later found in Idaho. However, DiMaggio didn’t make it as he was killed in a shootout with the FBI agents on the case. Hannah was the only survivor.
