Great American Family is making the most out of its merger with Pure Flix. The two have come together to create an all-new original movie titled The Abigail Mysteries. Abby Broukes (Ansley Gordon) is struggling to come to terms with the loss of her baby and divorce. The podcaster moves back to her hometown and uncovers a mystery surrounding the death of her neighbor. Following the clues left behind, Abby works with childhood crush turned local cop Matt (Bret Green). He secretly has feelings for Abby, so will their mutual attraction finally be known?
Deadline was the first to report the movie news in March. The film was originally titled Mysteries of the Heart. Actress and screenwriter Ansley Gordon announced the news on Instagram. “Oh hey @deadline 🙈 “Mysteries of the Heart” coming soon to @pureflix produced by @nicelyentertainment 🔎🎬 ,” she wrote.

The Abigail Mysteries Cast – Who’s Who?
Ansley Gordon as Abigail Broukes
Ansley Gordon is an actress, screenwriter and producer. In addition to penning The Abigail Mysteries, Gordon wrote another TV movie called When Love Springs for Hallmark Channel. Other credits include The Singles Guidebook, The Boyfriend Trap, Love on Retreat and Love on the Reef. Fans may also recognize Ansley from an episode of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Upcoming for her are four films, one of which she wrote.
Ansley is married to husband Brian Balzerini. They have been married for five years. She celebrated their anniversary, writing: “Happy five year wedding anniversary to my best friend. You are my favorite person, the best cat dad, my adventure buddy. I love you @bbalzerini 🤍.”
While they don’t have kids, they do have a couple adorable cats.
Bret Green as Matt MacAdams
Bret Green is an Emmy nominated actor. His work includes Jane the Virgin, Ratched and The Inspectors. Recently, he guested on an episode of All Rise. Additionally, Bret has written and produced a miniseries and short film. Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, Green has photographer listed in his Instagram bio.
Bret will celebrate four years of marriage to wife Marlene in September. Apparently, they met on Bumble, per Bret’s Valentine’s Day post last year. “Happy ❤️ day to this gorgeous Bumble date turned girlfriend turned fiancée turned wife turned mama! @itsmamamarlene,” he captioned a wedding photo.
They have a daughter named Eliana, who turned 2 years old last month.
