Trevor Donovan is a popular actor. He is known by many fans, from ones who watch teen drama television, to those who like heartwarming family films. The California native was born Trevor Donovan Neubauer, but obviously shortened it for his acting career. Speaking of which, Trevor’s resume is nothing short of impressive. Aside from his Great American Family celebrity, Donovan’s done work on major films, and guested on well-known TV shows. Who is Trevor Donovan?

1) Trevor was born on October 11, 1978 in Bishop, California. He grew up in nearby Mammoth Lakes. He’s 45 years old.

2) He has a brother named Jake, who is a fireman. “My #Fireman brother Jake and I doing the REDWOD Workout with 70 lbs bag,” Trevor tweeted years ago. Check out the video below, as well as another photo he posted for National Siblings Day a couple years back.

3) While Trevor does not have any kids, he is a proud dog dad. He has has two dogs: Shadow, a Golden Retriever and Chance, a Labrador Retriever. Donovan previously had a German Shepard named Dogbert and an English Bulldog named Tito. Although, judging by his most recent tweets, he may have a new dog named Roscoe. 4) His most notable role is that of Teddy Montgomery on the hit show 90210. Trevor began in a recurring role during season 2; by season 3, he was upgraded to a series regular. He appeared in 73 episodes from 2009-2013.

5) Other credits of his include: Sun Records, Melissa & Joey, as well as a variety of Hallmark movies such as USS Christmas, Nantucket Noel and J.L. Family Ranch: The Wedding Gift.

6) Great American Family fans will recognize Trevor from Jingle Bell Princess, A Harvest Homecoming and most recently, ‘Twas the Text Before Christmas, where he reunited with former Jingle Bell Princess co-star Merritt Patterson.

Bonus fun fact: Trevor reunited with 90210’s Jessica Lowndes for A Harvest Homecoming in 2023. In 90210, the two portrayed old friends who also used to date. In the GAC film, their characters have a romantic entanglement too.

7) In feature films, Donovan can be seen in Reagan. He will portray former President Ronald Reagan’s longest-serving Secret Service Agent John Barletta. Additional films you may have seen him in include Savages, Surrogates and Takers.

8) Trevor competed on season 31 of Dancing with the Stars. He was partnered up with professional dancer Emma Slater and their team name was “Tremma.” They placed 6th overall in the competition.

9) You might think the booked and busy actor wouldn’t have time for anything else. But, in 2022, Trevor launched an anti-bullying initiative called Upstanders.

Twas the Text Before Christmas is a new original movie premiering October 21, 2023 as part of Great American Family Channel‘s “Great American Christmas” lineup. Starring Merritt Patterson and Trevor Donovan, the film follows two strangers who slowly become more than friends over the holidays. This film also reunites Merritt Patterson and Trevor Donovan, who previously starred in 2021’s Jingle Bell Princess on GAC. See a preview, photos, plot details and more below.

What is Twas the Text Before Christmas about?

Addie (Merritt Patterson) is a New York City chiropractor. One day, she mistakenly receives a text from “Nana.” The accidental text turns into a friendship between Nana and Addie who now communicate regularly. Nana invites Addie to spend the holiday in Vermont. It is picture-perfect and exactly as Nana described except for one surprise. Nana’s single son, James (Trevor Donovan), a traveling doctor is also home for the holidays. Over three consecutive years, James and Addie are together during the holidays. Although, it isn’t until they are both single that they begin to see each other in a different light.

Who’s in the Cast of Twas the Text Before Christmas?

Merritt Patterson as Addie

Merritt Patterson is an actress who appeared in GAC’s Jingle Bell Princess and Catering Christmas. Patterson also starred in films such as A Royal Winter and The Christmas Cottage for Hallmark. Other credits include Ravenswood, Radio Rebel and The Royals. In 2022, Merritt married longtime boyfriend JR Ringer. The two enjoy traveling, hiking and spending time with friends and family.

Trevor Donovan as James

Trevor Donovan is an actor who starred in the hit CW series 90210. Since then, he’s appeared in various Hallmark Channel films like Marry Me at Christmas, Snowcoming, USS Christmas and Nantucket Noel. In 2021, Donovan appeared alongside Merritt Patterson in GAC’s Jingle Bell Princess. Most recently, Trevor reunited with his former 90210 co-star Jessica Lowndes in the Great American Family Channel film A Harvest Homecoming. When he’s not working, Trevor is active on social media and has three dogs to take care of.

A Harvest Homecoming Plot

Teacher Drew Clark (Trevor Donovan) accepts a temporary substitute job in his old hometown of Chestnut Hollow, Texas. There, he meets Aiden, the proverbial new kid at school, desperate for a caring friend. He would have rather taken a job somewhere else, but Drew reconsiders Chestnut Hollow when he meets Lainie Abbott (Jessica Lowndes). She’s the new manager of his parents’ massive apple orchard and cider mill business, and more importantly, Aiden’s mom.

Trevor Donovan is 40 years old and an actor from California. He is best known for his role of Teddy Montgomery on the hit show 90210. Other credits include Sun Records, Melissa & Joey, as well as a slew of Hallmark movies. In 2021, Donovan appeared in his first movie for GAC called Jingle Bell Princess. The following year, Trevor was partnered up with Emma Slater for season 31 of Dancing with the Stars. He’s an animal lover, and has three dogs of his own: Tito, an English Bulldog; Shadow, a Golden Retriever; and Chance, a Labrador Retriever. Jessica Lowndes as Lainie Abbott

Jessica Lowndes is a 34-year-old Canadian actress. She starred alongside Trevor Donovan in 90210 as Adrianna Tate-Duncan. In addition, Lowndes appeared in several Hallmark films, co-produced a Lifetime movie and starred in GAC’s Harmony from the Heart, I’m Glad It’s Christmas and Angel Falls Christmas. Jessica makes music too; her most recent single is called “Right Now.” Her last relationship was with Marc Jordan in 2021, but she hasn’t posted anything with him since Valentine’s Day 2022.
