What is Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story about?

Alana Higman (Hunter King) is sure her family’s lifelong history as Kansas City Chiefs superfans makes them a frontrunner to win the team’s “Fan of the Year” contest. Derrick (Tyler Hynes) is the Director of Fan Engagement, who is tasked with evaluating how Alana and her family stack up against the other two finalists.  As the pair spends time together, it’s clear there’s a spark between them. But when her grandfather’s (Ed Begley Jr.) vintage Chiefs, good luck winter hat goes missing, Alana begins to doubt everything she believed about fate, destiny and even questions her future with Derrick – unless, that is, a little Christmas magic can throw a Hail Mary.

Alexa PenaVega is a 35-year-old actress and singer. She grew up with six siblings, including her actress sister, Makenzie Vega. Her most notable roles include the Spy Kids film franchise, Sleepover, and a variety of Hallmark Channel original movies like Ms Matched, Taking a Shot at Love and A Paris Proposal. How did Alexa and Carlos meet?

Alexa and Carlos PenaVega met in 2012 at a Bible study. At the time, Alexa was not looking for love because she recently went through a divorce. So, she and Carlos became friends first. In 2013, they became engaged. Carlos and Alexa married on January 4, 2014. Their 10 year anniversary happened this year.  

“10 years of being married to you! Excited for this new chapter that God has for us! #happyanniversary,” Carlos posted to his Instagram page, tagging his wife, Alexa.

Do they have kids?

Carlos and Alexa PenaVega’s first son, Ocean, was born in 2016. Their second son, Kingston, was born in 2019. Their first daughter, Rio, was born in 2021. Ocean is now 7 years old; Kingston is 4, but will be turning 5 at the end of June. Rio is 3 years old. Did you know that their kids have their own Instagrams? In November 2023, Alexa and Carlos announced they were expecting their fourth child. But, in April of this year, their daughter, Indy, was stillborn. Family, friends, and fans alike shared their condolences for the couple on social media. The support helped the couple rally during this difficult time, and Alexa thanked everyone in a video a month later.

Anything else to know about Alexa and Carlos?

Alexa and Carlos both appeared on season 21 of Dancing with the Stars. But, they did not dance with each other. They both were paired with professional dancers. Alexa was partnered with Mark Ballas and Carlos was paired with Witney Carson.

In addition to their impressive acting resumes, the couple have a YouTube channel together. Formerly titled LexLovesLos, it’s now La Vida PenaVega, and chronicles their family life. They’ve had quite the journey. In 2017, the PenaVegas moved from Los Angeles, California to Maui, Hawaii. They split their time between their home there, and fixing up a boat in Florida to sail around the world in.

However, in March of 2024, both Alexa and Carlos felt called to move to Tennessee. At the time of their video, their houseboat was up for sale and they relocated to a new house. The family seems to be enjoying their time so far.

What is Legend of the Lost Locket about?

Amelia Scott (Natasha Burnett) is an antiques expert on the hunt for a long-lost locket. Legend has it that it will grant the wearer true love. Her late mother started the quest and Amelia wants to see it through. Her search takes her from London to a small town in Massachusetts, where she immediately clashes with Sheriff Marcus Forrest (Viv Leacock). Marcus begins to question her motives and interest in the town’s history. After a rocky start, Sheriff Forrest begins to recognize what acquiring the antique could mean to the local community. So, he joins Amelia in the race to find the locket before their competition beats them to it. As their pursuit continues, their feelings for each other grow. Amelia and Marcus’ search takes them all over Boston, but can they follow their hearts to the ultimate treasure of true love?

A stint on Lifetime’s Unreal got her noticed, and soon she was booking jobs such as Harvest Moon, iZombie and The Bridge. As a bonus, Natasha will get to use her native British accent to portray London-based Amelia. In addition to acting, Burnett also sings. She’s always active on social media, especially Instagram and Twitter.

Viv Leacock as Marcus Forrest

Viv Leacock appeared in When Calls the Heart for Hallmark, as well as Cruel Instruction on Lifetime. The Vancouver-based actor has an impressive list of credits to his name, including I Spy, Are We There Yet?, Are We Done Yet?, This Means War, and Hallmark’s Hailey Dean Mysteries. Leacock is married to wife Divina with whom he has three children, Vienna, Lennox and Elias. A fun fact is that Viv actually starred alongside Natasha in When Calls the Heart – they portrayed husband and wife onscreen. Now, they are reuniting for this Hallmark Channel original movie.

Falling in Love in Niagara Plot

Maddie (Jocelyn Hudon) was recently dumped by her fiancé before their wedding. So, she decides to go on the planned honeymoon to Niagara Falls with her sister (Maša Lizdek). While there, Maddie meets Mike (Dan Jeannotte), her tour guide whom she is less than excited to spend time with after their very awkward meeting in the park. After following her grandparents’ honeymoon itinerary, Mike convinces Maddie to be spontaneous and discover everything Niagara has to offer. This adventure sparks a romantic connection between them. Meanwhile, Maddie’s sister takes a new photography gig and captures a couple planning their dream destination wedding at the Falls.

Jocelyn Hudon starred in The Strain for FX and Hallmark’s Love in the Maldives. In the latter, she co-starred with her real-life husband Jake Manley. They also worked together on Netflix’s The Order. Other credits of Jocelyn’s include Romance With a Twist, When Hope Calls, The Rookie Feds and V For Vengeance. Currently, Hudon can be seen on NBC’s Chicago Fire. As mentioned earlier, she’s married to fellow actor Jake Manley. The couple dated for five years before getting engaged, eventually marrying in 2022.

What is The Way Home about?

The Way Home follows Kat Landry (Chyler Leigh) and her teen daughter Alice Dhawan (Sadie Laflamme-Snow) as they move in with estranged grandma Del (Andie MacDowell). Escaping the tension, Alice explores the farm and finds herself on a surprising journey. All three women must confront their pasts to allow themselves to move forward into the future, whether that be in professional endeavors or personal relationships. Along the way, they’ll meet new people and discover how to rebuild connections with each other.

What happened in season 1 of The Way Home?

In season 1, Alice discovered she could time travel through her grandmother’s pond on the farm. She was transported back to the late 90s and early 2000s when her mother was a teenager. There, Alice befriended a teenaged Kat and her friend Elliot. Plus, she met her grandfather, who died before she was born in the present day. In this time traveled state, Alice also investigated her uncle Jacob’s disappearance.

Meanwhile, in the present day, Kat discovered the time traveling pond, and went back to when her father and brother were both still alive. Present day Elliot also revealed his longstanding crush on Kat. However, Kat discovered her brother Jacob fell into the pond and so she went back to get him. But, this time she traveled back to 1814 and found Jacob to be an engaged adult. When Kat tried to reach him, her efforts made Jacob get captured.

What about season 2?

Kat discovered Jacob was imprisoned by Cyrus, a mansion owner. With help from her 1814 friends, Kat rescued Jacob and continued to go back and forth in time. Meanwhile, Kat’s mom, Del, found a horse belonging to her new neighbor, Sam. But, she initially ignored the attraction between them due to memories of her late husband, Colton. She was torn between letting Colton go and letting Sam in.

Alice struggled to feel normal amidst her time traveling abilities. But, things started to look up for her when she developed a crush on Noah, a coffee shop patron. For her mother, Kat, things were pretty complicated for a while. Kat found her focus to be on 1814, including the handsome Thomas Coyle. When she discovered he sacrificed himself for Jacob, Kat raced to find him and left present day Elliot in the dust.

When she arrived, Jacob told her that he wanted to return to the present, and that Thomas was still alive. In the meantime, Elliot theorized that they could only travel back in time with a Landry family member. So, he and Alice put the theory to the test and ended up at his 2007 graduation with teenaged Kat. In the final scene, fans saw Colton and a young Jacob at a fire on graduation night. But, when the man turned around, it was Colton and not Elliot, who originally traveled back in time. 

What did the cast and crew say about The Way Home season 3?

Sadie Snow, who plays Alice on the show, posted this lovely, celebratory tribute to Instagram. “see you next season if you work on this show i love you, if you watch this show i love you and if you are about to binge seasons 1 & 2 and join the party i love you too!! i love being alice with everything i’ve got and you don’t even know how grateful and thrilled i am to DIVE back in with my way home family for season 3 (pun intended) bye from your alice (for now) xx #thewayhome.”

Chyler Leigh, who portrays Kat, echoed her onscreen daughter’s sentiments, writing: “I love this project so much and I’m so happy I get to share this journey with all of you!” Shock and surprised reactions were also had by their fellow co-stars Evan Williams (Elliot) and Andie MacDowell (Del). Any other details to know?

There is no premiere date set for The Way Home season 3 right now. But, it is expected to premiere in 2025, so filming will most likely commence later this year. Be sure to follow the show and cast on Instagram to keep up to date with the new season.

What is Betty’s Bad Luck in Love about? 

Betty (Laci J. Mailey) was about to have her first kiss when a jealous classmate “cursed” her with the fate of never finding true love. After a series of failed relationships, Betty stopped dating entirely. Now, she focuses on her career as an actuary and plans her best friend Mya’s (Meghan Heffern) wedding. Understandably, Betty is cautious when Alex (Marco Grazzini), a danger-seeking news photographer asks her out on a date. However, with Mya’s encouragement, Betty decides to fight her fears and give love another chance.

Joining Alex on his adventures allows a relationship to blossom between the two of them. Betty even relaxes and wonders whether the curse is real after all. But, that changes when Alex unexpectedly trips and falls down a staircase, leading Betty to blame herself for his accident. Heartbroken, she frantically tries to find her childhood friend to lift the curse. It’s during this pursuit that Betty realizes the curse was only a series of random accidents, and she shouldn’t let fear win over love.

Laci J. Mailey as Betty

Laci J. Mailey appeared in the TV series’ Chesapeake Shores on Hallmark Channel and SurrealEstate on Syfy. Recurring roles include Falling Skies, Romeo Section and Supernatural. Mailey has theater credits as well, like Spike Heels at the Railtown Actors Studio and Ruach with The Space Collective in New York City. Lacy trained in Vancouver, Los Angeles, New York and Rome in both theater and film. In addition to acting, she owns Good Fruit Productions where she directed several short films. The Canadian-born actress is married to husband Steve Bradley with whom she has two children.

Marco Grazzini as Alex 

Marco Grazzini starred in Netflix’s Virgin River and Hallmark Channel’s Hearts in the Game. Other memorable roles include Kim’s Convenience, The Murders and Heroes Reborn. Grazzini is also the original voice of Alejandro in Cartoon Network’s Total Drama World Tour. Marco starred in Right in Front of You for Hallmark and Good Sam for Netflix. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking and photography. Marco’s a new father, with one daughter born to him and longtime girlfriend, actress Alvina August.
