Mystery Island on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries – Plot & Photos

Mystery Island is a new original movie premiering September 29 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Starring Elizabeth Henstridge and Charlie Weber, the film follows a criminal psychiatrist and detective who team up to solve a murder. What is Mystery Island about?

London Police psychiatrist Dr. Emilia Priestly (Elizabeth Henstridge) needs to take a relaxing break from her stressful job. So, her wealthy friend Baroness Jane Alcott (Kezia Burrows) invites her to Mystery Island, a murder-mystery-themed resort. As the game begins, a tragedy occurs. John Murtaugh (Robert Getman) is murdered. Confined to the island, visitors wait while local detective Jason Trent (Charlie Weber) investigates the case. Once Emilia proves her innocence, she makes use of her special skills to help Jason find the murderer. Soon, the lines begin to blur between game and reality. Emilia and Jason work together to unravel a web of romance, revenge and betrayal behind the resort, guests and elusive founder.

Who’s in the Cast of Mystery Island?

Elizabeth Henstridge as Dr. Emilia Priestly

Elizabeth Henstridge starred in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Suspicion. The English actress has also directed an episode of the former series, as well as episodes of Superman & Lois and Gotham Knights. She is classically trained in theater and film, and lives in Los Angeles, California. Mystery Island isn’t Elizabeth’s first Hallmark movie: she starred in 2019’s Christmas at the Plaza. In 2021, the 36-year-old married husband American actor Zachary Burr Abel.

Charlie Weber as Jason Trent

Charlie Weber appeared in How to Get Away with Murder and As They Made Us. He held roles in many feature films, such as Panama, The Locksmith and After We Collided. Weber also starred in a Hallmark Movies & Mysteries film called Christmas Bedtime Stories. Charlie lives with his daughter and French Bulldog. He was married from 2015-2016 to Giselle Weber.
