1) Mariel Hemingway is a 62-year-old actress. She was born on November 22, 1961 in Mill Valley, California. But, she grew up in Ketchum, Idaho.
2) Her grandfather was famed novelist Ernest Hemingway. Mariel was actually named after a Cuban port where her father Jack, and grandfather Ernest would go fishing.
3) Her film debut was in 1976’s Lipstick, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination. Her second film, 1979’s Manhattan, earned her Academy Award (Oscars) and BAFTA nominations. Hemingway’s TV series, Civil Wars, also garnered a Golden Globe nod. Other credits include guest spots on Law & Order, Eleventh Hour and Roseanne, as well as films like On Sacred Ground and God’s Country Song.
4) As mentioned earlier, Mariel’s children are actresses too. Her oldest daughter is actress and model Dree Hemingway. Youngest daughter Langley Fox, is also a model and actress. Dree and Langley are from Mariel’s marriage to filmmaker Stephen Crisman. They married in 1984 and divorced in 2009.
5) Currently, Hemingway’s partner is Bobby Williams, a stuntman and extreme athlete. They have been together since 2011. Mariel is a health advocate and her eponymous foundation focuses on overall health. She’s also done collaborations with brands such as Coach and Ferragamo.
