Summer is in full swing on Hallmark Channel. The latest movie to join their Summer Nights lineup is Making Waves. It follows other originals such as Aloha Heart and A Lifelong Love. Starring Holland Roden and Corey Cott, the film is about a young woman who reconnects with her childhood summer sweetheart. Get details below, including a full synopsis, cast list, photos and more.
Making Waves Plot
Amelia (Holland Roden) is a music executive scouting a new band at a festival. She’s surprised to discover the group is fronted by Will (Corey Cott), her childhood love. Over the next week, Amelia tries to convince Will that her company is the best choice for his musical vision. But, she soon realizes there might be a conflict of interest…her feelings for him.

Holland Roden as Amelia
Holland Roden is an actress who starred in Teen Wolf on MTV for six years. She reprised her role of Lydia Martin in the 2023 Paramount Plus film. Recently, she recurred on Mayans MC and starred in the 2022 film Time for Him to Come Home for Christmas on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. On July 21, Mother May I is released. Holland starred in and produced this film. Roden also has a podcast called Howler Back Now, where she rewatches the Teen Wolf series and has costars on to discuss it.
She previously dated co-star Ian Bohen. Fans are wondering if they may be back together after a fun Instagram post from Holland where they coordinated colors. This was back in January, and neither have confirmed or denied anything.
Corey Cott as Will
Corey Cott is an actor and singer. He performed in the Broadway musicals Newsies and Bandstand. Corey’s also guested on various television shows, including Chicago Med, The Equalizer and Law & Order. Cott held a main role in the short-lived series Filthy Rich in 2020. Making Waves is his second Hallmark movie; his first was 2022’s Butlers in Love. The 33-year-old is the older brother of Riverdale actor Casey Cott.
Corey is married to wife Meghan Woollard. They have three sons together.
