Kirk Franklin’s A Gospel Christmas on Lifetime: What is the Movie About?

Olivia (Demetria McKinney) is an assistant pastor, who gets assigned to be a lead pastor at a new church a month before Christmas. She’s worried she won’t be able to manage the transition, which includes getting the choir ready for the town’s Winter Jamboree. But, when she bands together with her new congregation, Olivia discovers a new home for herself, and even finds a little romance along the way. Featuring a special appearance and s ongs written and arranged by Kirk Franklin.

Demetria McKinney as Olivia

Demetria McKinney is an actress who starred in Motherland: Fort Salem, Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, and The Real Housewives of Atlanta. More recent is her role on the Daytime Emmy nominated series A House Divided. In addition to acting, she’s a singer, known for songs such as “Easy.” She has a son named Cairo who’s also in the entertainment industry – he’s a musician.

Chaz Lamar Shepherd as Ashton

Chaz Lamar Shepherd is an actor known for Me and the Boys, 7th Heaven, The Game, and 2018’s Luke Cage. 2019 and 2020 saw him guest star on NCIS: New Orleans and The Blacklist, respectively. He has a daughter named Harlem; Chaz also has a great voice – he released a Christmas EP on December 4 called A Wonderful Christmas.
