Holiday Heritage is a brand-new Hallmark Channel movie airing on December 16, 2022. It will join the 2022 lineup of other Countdown to Christmas films such as Hanukkah on Rye and The Gift of Peace. For more information, including plot, cast and photos, keep reading below.
Holiday Heritage Plot
Ella (Lyndie Greenwood) returns home for the holidays to convince her grandmother Tess (Darlene Cooke) and mother Micah (Holly Robinson Peete) to deal with their family saga. Ella believes the best way to bring her family back together is to celebrate Christmas, something they haven’t done since her grandfather passed away.
To make the holiday festive, Ella enlists Griffin (Brooks Darnell) to help. It just so happens that Griffin is the newly elected mayor – and Ella’s ex-boyfriend! After spending Christmas together, Ella, Micah and Tess decide to celebrate Kwanzaa and embrace its unifying message. All three women celebrate the holidays in a unique way and reconnect with one another in this heartwarming, multi-generational story.

Lyndie Greenwood as Ella
Lyndie is a Canadian actress. Recently, she starred in Hallmark’s Girlfriendship, and also held a role in the Lifetime movie Flint. You may also recognize her from FOX’s Sleepy Hollow or the CW’s Nikita. Up next for Lyndie is the CTV series Shelved.
Brooks Darnell as Griffin
Brooks is an American actor known for appearing in the 2012 film Total Recall. Although, Hallmark Channel fans will know him from Advice to Love By and A Winter Getaway. Brooks also held roles on shows such as Shadowhunters, Bones and Nikita.
Holly Robinson Peete as Micah
Holly is a well-known actress, talk show host, activist and philanthropist. In addition to starring in Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ Morning Show Mysteries, Holly appeared in all four of Hallmark Channel’s Christmas in Evergreen movies. Holly and husband Rodney Peete founded the HollyRod Foundation after her father’s battle with Parkinson’s disease. Later, it expanded to include autism resources. She and Rodney live in Los Angeles with their four children.
