Hallmark Channel just aired a very successful original movie, “Right In Front of Me.” The next one up in their 2021 lineup is called “Hearts Down Under.” The original Hallmark Channel movie was filmed on location in Australia and stars Cindy Busby and Tim Ross.
‘Hearts Down Under’ Plot
What is the movie about?
Cindy Busby portrays Caroline, a New York restaurateur who has her hands full with the responsibilities of running her own restaurant. When Caroline learns her beloved aunt left her a café…in the land down under, more specifically Lemon Myrtle Cove, Australia, she is overwhelmed. With her busy schedule, it feels like this is the last thing she has time for.
However, she starts thinking that a trip to Australia is exactly what she needs to clear her head. When Caroline visits the café, she is surprised by the less than impressive food. Caroline inadvertedly insults the café’s chef – Simon (Ross) when she tells him how she feels about the food, not realizing he works there.
In a hurry to get back to her life in New York, Caroline decides to remodel the café and then put it up for sale. But, she runs into a few problems. Being in a small town like Lemon Myrtle Cove makes it hard to find a contractor that is available and closeby. Who is the closest contractor available? Simon – the chef from the café.
Even though Simon and Caroline didn’t start off on the right food, he agrees to help Caroline fix up the café. During their work together on the project, she starts seeing the café and area through his eyes and begins to fall for the place…and him.
Who is in the ‘Hearts Down Under’ Cast?
Cindy Busby as Caroline
Cindy Busby is a Canadian actress. She is best known for her role as Ashley Stanton on Heartland. This isn’t the first time she is starring in a Hallmark Channel movie. “Love in the Forecast,” “Romance in the Air,” and “Follow Me to the Daisy Hills,” are a few recent ones she was in.
A fun fact – it appears that “Hearts Down Under” was originally named “Love on the Menu” and was supposed to be on Netflix. However, it looks like Hallmark bought the rights to the film and renamed it “Hearts Down Under.”
Cindy teased the movie that will appear on Hallmark to her Instagram with a short video. “April 24th 9/8c Board 🎫 a ✈️ to Australia 🇦🇺 with me for the premiere of #HeartsDownUnder on @hallmarkchannel 💕” she wrote.
Tim Ross as Simon
Tim Ross plays Dr. Ben Patterson on the TV series, Harrow. He also portrayed Steve Beaumont in Wonderland. In 2020, Tim filmed “Hearts Down Under” opposite Cindy Busby in Australia.
Tim posted a photo of he and his leading lady from the movie to Instagram. Check it out!

Trying to see the credits at the end of the Hallmark moves is SO frustrating. I hear a song I like, want to know who sang it and the name of it…no way to read the credits when they’re miniaturized below previews. Then I try to look online in all sorts of websites about the movie and still can’t get the information. Great movie….just wish we could read the credits at the end.
That drives me crazy too Suzi!!! I have had little or no luck as well finding song credits. Is it THAT top secret?!
