Great American Family (GAC) continues to announce new titles for its Great American Christmas 2023 roster. The newest movie to join their lineup is Christmas On Windmill Way, led by Chad Michael Murray. Get details including plot, cast, premiere date and see a photo below.

Christmas On Windmill Way Plot

Mia Miejer (Christa Taylor Brown) is excitedly anticipating the Christmas Market Fest Dutch Bake-Off competition. This is because she’s confident her Mimi, Ann, will win the festival’s top prize with her Kerststol. But, Mia learns Mimi has difficult news to share. Ann had to sell land around the family-owned Jansen Inn. This included easements around the heritage Tall Wooden and Brick Dutch Windmill. It’s an especially tough pill for Mia to swallow when she learns the land developer’s representative is her former boyfriend, Brady Schaltz (Chad Michael Murray). Brady must also let Mia and Ann know the agreement includes the Inn and sawmill, all of which will be torn down. Will this news ruin any chance of the exes rekindling their spark?

Chad Michael Murray told PEOPLE that “Telling stories and entertaining people is what I love to do. This genre hits home for so many people during a weighted time of the year. Bringing light and love with the story we’re telling feels like icing on the cake. Or, let’s get corny here: it’s like adding snow on Christmas.”

GAC posted the announcement on their Instagram. Candace Cameron Bure commented: “Give us more CMM!!!!!! 🎄☃️!!!!!” and Danica McKellar added: “Yay!! 🎄❤️🎬.”

Chad Michael Murray as Brady Schaltz

Chad Michael Murray is an American actor best known for One Tree Hill. The 41-year-old has also starred in numerous holiday movies for a variety of networks, including Hallmark, Lifetime and of course, GAC. His most recent was GAC’s Angel Falls Christmas alongside Jessica Lowndes. Other notables include films like Freaky Friday and A Cinderella Story, as well as recurring TV roles in Gilmore Girls, Dawson’s Creek and Riverdale. In 2023, Chad leads the CTV/CW series Sullivan’s Crossing, which was just renewed for a second season.

Recently, Michael Murray and wife, actress Sarah Roemer, made headlines when they announced they’re expecting their third child together. They have been married since 2015 and have two kids.

Christa Taylor Brown is a Canadian actress. She has appeared in TV series Wynonna Earp, and Tribal, as well as films Dream Wedding and Range Roads. Christmas On Windmill Way is Christa’s second Great American Family film on the heels of Dream Wedding, which aired earlier this year. In addition to acting, Taylor Brown works in real estate and design. When she’s not working, she enjoys traveling.

When does the movie premiere?

Christmas on Windmill Way is premiering as part of the network’s Great American Christmas 2023 lineup. It’s one of their 21 new movies, with more titles anticipated soon. Great American Christmas will begin on October 20, 2023 with “new holiday movie premieres every Saturday and Sunday and 24/7 Christmas movies through the end of the year,” according to GAC.
