It’s not even summer yet, but Candace Cameron Bure has her mind on Christmas. The Great American Family actress will star in an upcoming film for the network titled A Christmas Less Traveled alongside Eric Johnson. What is A Christmas Less Traveled about?
The Dine and Dash diner has a stack of mounting unpaid bills. This forces its owner, Desi (Candace Cameron Bure) to sell her beloved, mint condition, cherry red 1964 Ford F-100, a gift from her deceased father. As Desi visits the vintage truck one last time, she discovers a recorded message from her dad on an old audio cassette. Desi’s Dad’s voice sends her and “Old Red” out to retrace her family’s most memorable moments one last time. Just as the journey begins, Desi meets Greyson (Eric Johnson). He offers her a generous payment in exchange for a ride to close the most important deal of his life. Little do Desi and Greyson realize this trip will reveal more about each of them than they could have ever known.

Who’s in the cast of A Christmas Less Traveled?
Candace Cameron Bure will portray Desi in A Christmas Less Traveled. The former Hallmark actress has been with Great American Family since its inception in 2021. She’s appeared in numerous made-for-TV movies on the network. Some of those titles include My Christmas Hero, A Christmas Present and the upcoming Ainsley McGregor Mysteries franchise. Of course, fans know Bure as DJ Tanner in Full House, and its Netflix spinoff, Fuller House. She’s married to husband Val Bure, with whom she has three children.
Eric Johnson will play Greyson in A Christmas Less Traveled. The Canadian actor has a variety of credits to his name, from TV series to feature films. Some of those credits include Rookie Blue, Flash Gordon, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, Smallville and the Fifty Shades film franchise. He is married to wife Adria Budd, and they have one child together.

“A Christmas Less Traveled gently challenges us to truly embrace every moment we share with our families, friends and loved ones. It reminds us that forgiving ourselves and others is the pathway to set ourselves free,” Candace Cameron Bure said in a GAC press release.
She also posted to Instagram about the project, saying: “Oh my lanta!! There is so much going on in Candyland 😉 including…🥁…Christmas came early with a sneak peek of my new Christmas movie on @greatamericanfamily called A Christmas Less Traveled 🎄✨.”
Bure will be executive producing the film under her CandyRock Entertainment company. While there’s no official premiere date set yet, A Christmas Less Traveled will premiere in November during this year’s Great American Christmas lineup.
