The first time we see the husband he’s a Marine Major, the rest of the movie he’s a Captain. Basic failure to note details. It is very unlikely that the Major General father of the friend would still be at the same installation after promotion to Lieutenant General. The worst however was the premise that a declared dead, POW could wander into a US Embassy and a message would not be sent to the DoD and marines that one of their service members had been recovered. He’d have been evacuated to a military hospital, debriefed by intelligence officials to learn about his captivity and his wife and possibly daughter would have been transported to be with him. He would not have simply wandered into his former installation at the end of the movie for a reunion.
Too fantastic for belief, even for Hallmark!
