Chateau Christmas Movie Plot
It follows Margot Hammond, a world-renowned pianist played by Merritt Patterson as she gets unexpected time off to spend Christmas with her family. They spend the holiday at their favorite hotel, Chateau Newhaus. This comes at a great time for Margot after receiving yet another bad review, all she wants to do is take a break from music in hopes of rediscovering her passion for the piano.
However, it’s not all relaxation at Chateau Newhaus when she runs into her ex-boyfriend and former bandmate Jackson, played by Luke Macfarlane. After much convincing, he pushes her to headline the sold-out annual Christmas Concert at the Chateau. Through all the time they’re spending together working on the show, their feelings for one another come flooding back. Will they take the plunge and risk heartbreak again or go their separate ways?

Filming Location Revealed
Chateau Christmas starring Merritt Patterson and Luke Macfarlane featured some beautiful backdrops during their movie. Where exactly were they filming? The actors were in British Columbia, Canada which is a popular spot for many Hallmark movies. The two were at the beautiful Fairmont Chateau Whistler.
It features 519 rooms, beautiful spa-like pools, a golf course, a spa, yoga studio, and various restaurant options to quench all your needs. You can plan a trip to the picturesque resort and feel as though you are reliving your favorite Hallmark movie.
Does Luke Macfarlane Actually Play the Cello?
Fans noticed that Luke Macfarlane was playing the cello in his Hallmark Channel movie, “Chateau Christmas.” However, was that really him? Many may not know this about Luke, but he does in fact play the cello.
Fun fact! At first the movie called for Luke’s character to play the violin, but when the production team found out he knew how to play the cello, they wrote that in to the new script.
